Congress allowed Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards to expire
As of July 28, 2023, Congress has allowed the statutory authority for the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) program (6 CFR Part 27) to expire. Congress first authorized DHS to establish the CFATS program in 2006. Managed by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), CFATS identifies and regulates high-risk chemical facilities to ensure security measures are in place to reduce the risk of certain hazardous chemicals being weaponized.

EPA / NOAA Tier2 Submit and CAMEO Updates
Tier2 Submit 2020 rev2 released (Feb 2021) and CAMEO Data Manager 4.0.2 released (Feb 2021) EPA / NOAA developed Tier2 Submit to help facilities prepare an electronic chemical inventory report. Many states accept Tier2 Submit, and the Tier II chemical inventory data can also be exported into the CAMEO Data Manager emergency planning software.
